I want the time tag values to be “2015:02:13 12:34:56” with a YYYYMMDD date from the filename and a hardcoded time stamp of “12:34:56”. The filename standard is 20150213-_Study_Abroad-001.JPG. The filename has a date stamp as the first part but does not include a time stamp. I want to set the DateTimeOriginal, FileCreateDate, and FileModifyDate date/time values based on the filename of a JPG file. I know there is a Tag Name Documentation reference guide, but I couldn’t find the correct one that listed the various “comment” tags.Ģ. jhaggle changed the title bug Meshroom can't find metadata added with Exiftool. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered: jhaggle added the bug label on Oct 24, 2021. It’s just simpler than using selection in the Terminal.

exiftool a.jpg -thumbnailimage -b exiftool -commentwow - exiftool a.jpg -thumbnailimage<- Add a comment to an embedded thumbnail image. The -fast option prevents exiftool from scanning for trailer information, so only the meta information header is transferred. Over the years I have used this script template to apply a lot of EXIFTOOL one-liner’s to a bunch of images selected in the Finder. Extract information from an image over the internet using the GNU wget utility. Thus, Meshroom fails at reading meta-data from png-files. Heres an AppleScript (Mac only, of course) that uses EXIFTOOL to write/overwrite strings or tags in the ‘user comment’ field of the EXIF array. Metadata is read from source files and printed in readable form to the console (or written to output text files with -w). Neither Perl, ExifTool or my launcher trigger a virus warning.

If you feel uncomfortable because of the two false warnings, just use the ZIP archive instead of the installer.

This is a long known issue with Inno Setup. FILE is one or more source file names, directory names, or '-' for the standard input. Did you read the comment on false positives on my web site There are some stupid scanners complaining about Inno Setup components.

What is the JPEG tag name for the “Comment” field that displays in a Windows JPG image file properties? I tried “-Comment” which did set a Comment value in the metadata but it isn’t the one that displays when you right-click a JPG file and click Properties on a Windows 7 system. ExifTool is a free and open-source software program for reading, writing, and manipulating image, audio, video, and PDF metadata. EDIT: If I convert the png-images to tiff format Meshroom actually finds the added metadata. DESCRIPTION A command-line interface to Image::ExifTool, used for reading and writing meta information in a variety of file types.
